As in the past, the traditional day of assignment of the Economic Progress Award bestowed annually by the Agrigento Chamber of Commerce under the patronage of the Ministry for Economic Development was held also this year.

Key figures from the business community and employment sector joined forces with representatives of local institutions at a well-attended event, and once again La Trinacria Dalli Cardillo S.p.A. under the family management of Gerlando, Giovanna and Salvatore Dalli Cardillo, was chosen as the maximum expression of entrepreneurial excellence in the province of Agrigento and celebrated with the 2011 Economic Progress Award commemorative plaque.

The award ceremony was attended by the highest ranking local authorities: Agrigento mayor Marco Zambuto, police chief Giuseppe Bisogno, provincial Guardia di Finanza commander Pasquale Porzio, and Carabinieri captain Nicolò Pisciotta. The event was also addressed by hon. Giuseppe Ruvolo and, representing the councillor for Production Activities Marco Venturi, cabinet president Leonardo Pipitone.
